When I was born in the early 60’s the youth of that day demanded change. What we all lived through was change. Another President was shot, the Beatles became an icon and a political war that cost our nation too many of its youth was raging on. By the end of the century we had even put a man on the moon. Change was all around but most of the change was for more freedom and rights.

As we went into the next decade unions became so powerful they were telling companies what to do and power of the people was strong. What effect on the children will this have? I remember a kid that brought a gun to school. He did it to impress a girl. Yes really stupid and he went to jail but nobody died. The youth of today have to face the possibility of dying for just going to school by one of their own that is just had it with life.

This year we are not only having a financial meltdown because of greedy bankers and their institutions but rogue nations are making threats that could end the world. The same nation and people in power of that nation that took Americans hostage 30 years ago are openly making a nuclear bomb. Yes Iran. We also have a nation that invaded its peaceful southern neighbor 60 years ago sending off missiles and they also have a nuclear bomb. North Korea just wants attention.

Yes the world is changing but in my opinion not for the good. I just hope the next generation is not to badly damaged by what is going on and can help steer this world back in the right direction and away from the private interest of a few that have been forced on us all.
