How America has changed has not been too subtle by those of us that have been paying attention. The latest is how the 99% protesters are being treated. Many of the local administrations where the protests are taking place have taken so called legal action to condone the physical and sometimes violent means by which the police have physically removed the protesters.

Just seems really ironic that the Obama administration has encourages citizens of other countries to protest openly against their governments, but when Americans do it they are breaking the law and stopped. The smear campaign against the protesters is proof enough that the present administration is worried about the movement. There is even a lobbying group openly backing the smear campaign against the Occupy Wall Street Movement that is financial by the large financial institutions.

So far clubs, rubber bullets, tear gas and pepper spray have been used against the peaceful protesters. The scenes are coming from multiple places across the nation liked the pepper spraying by police of sitting protesters and the bloody face of Brandon Watts in New York that are proof excessive violence is being used by the government against the protesters.

In a vain attempt by the authorities to appease the population, there are going to be inquiries into the behavior of the police, but there have been no arrests or even naming the perpetrators. Instead there were statements made saying the protesters were warned to relocate or they would be physically removed. That is the justification by the authorities, they warned the peaceful law abiding protesters to move of face removal by violent means.

This violence by police against the people they are supposedly hired and paid to protect has become common place across America. I personally know of an incident where 3 teenagers were killed in their truck by a police officer just to the west of St. Louis a few years ago. The youth were high school students and unarmed. They were pulled over for a traffic violation on a country road. The police officer made the statement he feared for his life so he shot all three boys while they were sitting in the cab of the truck. The officer was acquitted of all charges and is now patrolling another county in Missouri.

You might think my example is just an extreme case or isolated incident. That is the term that is in use a lot today to describe the violent actions of the police against the citizens they were hired to protect by the authorities. I have been told I am naïve and should accept the fact I am just one of the herd that should just accept discrimination and not say anything about it. The reason for the police is to enforce the policies of the local administration and to protect the special interests groups for which the political machines are funded.

The loss of rights by Americans has been happening for years now. Years ago the Women’s rights movement had the rights of fathers removed so a woman can have an abortion without the consent of the father. The no fault divorce has made it possible for women to be financially supported by a man without the headaches of being married so there is no reason to stay married once children are born. This in itself has destroyed the American family and the reason the divorce rate is so high. This does not even include the loans for new immigrants that long time citizens of America are not eligible to apply for that are funded by the taxes of long term Americans.

What the OWM are protesting is the general loss of Americans rights and to have their taxes spent for the good of the general public and not to enrich the special interest groups. The greed that now pulls the strings in Washington and in nearly all the local political offices has destroyed America and our way of life.

The obvious message from the administration is that Americans are free to do what they want and say what they want just as long as it does not upset the norm. Protesting of government policies is only permitted overseas in counties that do not fit in with the needs of the American foreign policy. For all others, just be happy you live in America and pay your taxes so American corporations can make huge profits. The alternative is to have the size of the protest increase to the point the administration can no longer ignore the will of the people. Unfortunately the police will not allow that to happen.

The discontent amongst Americans and people of the world is starting to be realized in more places than ever before. With protests being formed not only on Wall Street but also Oakland, Denver, Chicago, Sydney and London to name only a few. The masses are tired of being pushed around by the few.

It is the attitude of the rich and powerful that has made the situation unbearable anymore. A vice-president of major telecommunications network in the Philippines said it best” we are not concerned with the needs of masses but the needs of the concerned few is all that matter”. It is that type arrogance that has driven this protest worldwide.

So far the establishments have used threatens, tear gas, rubber bullets, arrests and intimidation to disperse the protest crowds, but the protest have persisted. Unfortunately the few know they can outlast the many because they have the majority of the money.

The best idea from the 99% protesters so far has been the Bank Transfer Day. If successful, a majority of the people that do banking with the financial giants transfer their funds to smaller community banks and credit Unions, they will lose money in the next quarter.

Unfortunately the response by the financial giants will probably be to buy out or leverage control of the smaller community banks that are to benefit from the transfers. Only the Credit Unions are safe for now.

The few have kept the American public distracted with their multiple efforts on society for decades so they can do as they wish to earn great fortunes. The wars were done in the name of freedom but the results were that the rich got richer be selling arms and supplies while the poor and average people just died.

As for what is left of the American family is another mechanism that they instrumented. The no fault divorce made lawyers masses amount of money. A few of the rich took over the billing of child support in which they take a hefty cut, which left both the fathers and mothers barely surviving. This way they were too busy attempting to feed themselves than see the bigger picture of what was really occurring.

Any man that might be a problem would have sexual harassment charges brought up against him to discredit them. This is common and even after the charges are dropped, the damage is done but the women and people behind the smear campaign are never brought to justice.

Discontent amongst Americans and people of the world is here to stay as long as there is a monetary system in place. It is either that or the people of the world wise up and really sees how they are being manipulated and put an end to it.

The 99% protesters that have engulfed the major cities in America is the first sign that the American people will no longer be a herd of cattle and allow the rich few to control their destiny or the path of the US Government.

The US Government has been influenced by the rich few since the Korean War. This influence has grown since then to the point now that they are deciding the future of the American people. During this period of time the separation between the rich has steadily grown with the level of civil liberties diminishing.

When the financial industry made mistakes in their investments just a few years ago, the US Government bailed them out while the rest of the country is still paying for their greed. The problem now is that all the money has been spent on saving the rich so the common Joe must just live with it.

To help keep the population distracted from what the government and what the rich are doing was the decay of the American family. Today it is more advantageous for a woman to divorce her husband than stay with him. The courts allow for a no fault divorce and make the man pay which develops two struggling homes. With such a distraction of just trying to make ends meet leaves no time to see the big picture.

To make things even for unequal, men have lost the right to prevent the death of their unborn children because of the rise in women’s rights at the cost of men’s rights. It has gotten so bad that men can be falsely accused of abuse and their lives ruined, but when they prove the opposite is true and the woman has lied; the US government refuses to pursue charges in fear of upsetting the women’s right movement.

All the time the US government has been reducing the rights of all Americans. This past week rubber bullets and tear gas have been used against the peaceful protesters how were demonstrating against the US policy.

Where we stand today is that the US Government interferes with the stability of the American family, takes our hard earned income and gives it to the rich few and is refusing to allow us to protest against it. That is not the same America that our forefathers founded so many years ago.

Hopefully the next president will be more than just a cheerleader and help the American people. Until then the 99% protesters will suffer and their voices muted so the rich can stay rich and the government control the people like a herd of cattle.

This article is in honor of Yueyue, whose young life ended today. The event that led to this death was an tragic accident in which two vehicles struck this young toddler while she was in the road. Yes the drivers were very careless and should be held accountable for their actions but not the point.

Most of the news media is focused on the 18 people that passed by the stricken girl. What has been forgotten was the one lady that stopped her job as a scrap collector to help this toddler. This unnamed lady took the time because she cared.

There have been calls that there is a crack in the moral society of China. I beg to differ. This unnamed scrap collector stopped and did all she could to save this young child’s life with total disregard to her own safety and well being. She is proof that even amongst the poor, there are people in the fastest growing economy of the world that care about human life.

The reports being posted are naming the drivers of the van’s and the people that walked and cycled by but no mention of the lady that stopped to help. She is a hero and proves there is goodness in the heart of the Chinese people, even amongst the poor and hungry.

I am sure Yueyue is in heaven wonder what happened. Thankfully God is there to consol her. It is a sad note when all you read about this event is what went wrong instead of what went right. God bless this unknown lady of honor.

With the 10th anniversary of the tragic event that changed America and the world upon us, I would like to thank and remember the real heroes of that day.

The ceremony at the place where the twin towers once stood will have the families of the victims because they were invited this year but not the men and women that went into the blazing, crumbling buildings and risked their lives to save others.

Not everyone that contributed to the rescue effort was able to be there the day of the tragedy. Many first responders came as the sun was setting but knew their skills were going to be needed. Many of them stayed until the job was done with a total disregard to the personal price to their own lives.

This is what makes a hero to me. To all of the men and women who gave of themselves to save as many lives as possible and to those that helped in the recovery effort, THANK YOU, you will never be forgotten.

Memorial Day in America is the one day of the year that is set aside to honor the fallen heroes that paid the ultimate price so the rest of us can live free.

Being in the Philippines, I have had the honor of being able to visit the places where the Bataan Death March began and end. The huge cross on the hill is the last stand in Bataan with the black tripod as the ending point.

No matter how far the US government strays away from the constitution, the US Armed Forces have always stood fast and never strayed from their duty.

Personally I feel there are no greater Americans than those men and women that have paid the ultimate price for our country. I pray God has welcomed each and every one of them into heaven.

The world view from the American article writer is one of concern and worry.

It is sad to say but the best thing for Moammar Gadhafi was the disaster that hit Japan. That took the media’s main focus away from his nation and the unrest there. In that time he bombed his people mercilessly as the world stopped to pray for the people of Japan.

What has me and my friends worried about living in the Philippines is the radiation from the still out of control reactor problems. As an old scientist I know the facts of what radiation can do and what a person can do to protect themselves. As I watch the media reports, I am disappointed with the lack of pertinent information about exactly what is occurring in the plant and the radiation levels it is emitting.

The reporters keep saying the levels are safe according to the government. I have a friend that worked in a low radioactive facility that was deemed safe 20 years ago. He has been battling leukemia now for 5 years.

What I have experienced in my life is when a government makes the statement that the level of danger is minimal or safe; it is only the immediate consequences not the real cost or long term effects of the exposure or dangers.

As for the 50 workers that are staying at the stricken plant attempting to resolve the situation, they are heroes that will pay for their efforts with their lives. When the Japanese government raised their so called safe exposure limits, it was a sign that theses heroes have already had their genes forever altered by the exposure to radiation and their lives are now to be sacrificed for the good of the nation.

As for Gadhafi, he is playing the odds correctly. His cease fire is only politics. His troops are still advancing; it is just without air support now. The UN collation is waiting for the Arab nations to specify what they will contribute. That too was a political move to appease their people.

The Arab nations hope Gadhafi keeps his country and the revolts across the Middle East come to a swift end. The democratic movement that is being demanded is not permitted under the rule of the Arab monarchies nor can it be. Monarchies, as with dictatorships are the opposite of democracy and the people do not have the same rights.

The Arab people have been following the teachings of their imams that told them to conquer the world by any means. First were the waves of terrorist attacks. Now they are instructing their followers to overthrow the governments that do not follow them. Now we see the pleas from these same people that have hated the western power for help. I am not surprised that the world is just standing by watching.

This American article writer knows what is really going on. First we help you overthrow your governments then you come after us, no thanks. These people need to stop listening to their imams and their attempt to gain power. If what they were preaching was really from God, you would be winning. Think about it.

I am a Christian and always will be one. I am praying for the people of Japan. I respect and give homage to the 50 heroes that are doing what they can to resolve the problems at the nuclear plant. I thank you and wish you the best.

.

At this time there is no plan to invade Libya by the US. The call for a no fly zone by those in Libya and around the world are growing in numbers, but can America afford to be the world’s police force anymore.

As an article writer for many internet sites, I am fully aware of the world’s events. I am also a US veteran that has been around this world for nearly half a century and have certain feelings about sending the youth from America into places so they can get killed.

There were good reasons to invade Iraq and Afghanistan, but the American death toll is still climbing with no end in sight. The people there do not want us and the world has criticized us for being there. The reason for invading Iraq was to get rid of Hussein. He is gone, it is time to leave. It’s not our fault the Iraq people do not get along with each other. In their history, they never have. That country will always be unstable so why are Americans still dying there except for politics.

The reason we invaded Afghanistan was to get Osama bin Laden. He is in Pakistan. We need to go get him or get out. The people we are trying to convince that democracy is a better way of life, do not care about us or the lives that it is costing American families, so let them be. The Taliban can be dealt with easier by dropping a few bombs. It might not be politically correct, but what they have done is not at all politically correct.

The best thing to do is to let independent countries settle their own internal strife. If we do not agree with the direction they are going, bar their people from immigrating out. Coddling them is not working.

Many Americas believe that bombing them back to the Stone Age is a better solution since their religious leaders are hell bent on our destruction. Bite the head off the snake and the snake will die. A solution that will minimize the death count.

That might sound a little drastic, but when is enough, enough. These countries will do what they want when we leave anyway. Fighting in faraway lands in a war we cannot win because the politicians have tied the hands of the combat troops, it stupid.

Let the troops fight and kill while protecting themselves. Innocent casualties are a part of war, get use to it. Our troops should not be dying to save a people that do not want us there in the first place is sheer madness.

This American article writer agrees with no invasion of Libya. I also think Gaddhafi should be put back on the terrorist list and left there for good. A rat never changes his colors; it is just new shit that falls out of his mouth. Never believe any of these terrorist will ever change. If they pose a threat use the big stick to solve the problem, not the little one that costs American lives.

From Egypt, the desire for freedom has moved to Libya this past week. Unlike his neighbors, Gaddhafi has decided to kill his people using foreign mercenaries. This comes to no surprise from someone who has lived nearly half a century. I remember when this mad man took power and all of the blood he has spilt since.

Turmoil in the Arab states was inevitable since nearly every government in the region is repressive towards its people. Like many people that are given vast wealth without having to work for it, they lost sight of what is right and wrong.

While the revolutions will probably continue to spread, America will never have to worry about it. Yes, our government is also repressive but we get to get rid of them every 4 years, so it is like a bloodless coup. It is really unfortunate that the present government has jammed down the throats of America that health bill. Now, they are seeking to remove collective bargaining amongst the government workers, to save money to pay for programs the American people clearly have said they do not want.

This should have been expected since fathers have lost equal rights in the civil courts when it pertains to their children over a decade ago. The government control as big brother is out of control, but the US is still the model for the world to follow. Too bad they do not practice what they preach.

As American citizens continue to lose their rights, I wonder how long before enough is enough. I read the other day about a man that is being forced to pay child support to a woman even after he had proven the child was not his. The courts have decided someone had to pay and since the woman did not know who the father was, this unlucky man was chosen to pick up the tab. American justice in the modern world.

Maybe the US government should stop giving our tax dollars to bloodthirsty dictators, like the $1.5 billion sent to Egypt, and spend it on the American people. I know that is a radical thought, spend tax dollars on the people who pay the taxes, WOW.

It is no wonder men like me have left the country looking for a better life. The health care issue is just one great example of too much bureaucracy. I had a hernia surgery here that only cost me $1800. The cost of the same surgery in the US is $35,000, much of which goes to all the middlemen pushing papers. Maybe the best health policy is to go back in time and let people and doctors deal with each other.

The US government has its hands in the till in so many aspects of the American people that a majority of our tax dollars are wasted. The Tea Party has the right idea. Next, the democrats will have a splinter group to get back in touch with the American people and we might finally have a government that is truly “by the people, for the people” again.

Now, back to reality. I know the American people do not stand a chance with the greed that runs within our government, along with the financial giants that control them. Citibank was too big to fail is what the US government said. A couple of years down the road from their US tax payer bailout, they are larger, more powerful, and reaping in huge profits. The US tax payer is still hurting, so the large financial groups have raised all the interest rates on credit and started to charge new fees to take more from the people that saved them.

America needs a revolution, but not to topple the government. We need to stop the financial giants from controlling our lives. Unfortunately, that is easier said than done.

Now that the Egyptian military dictatorship of 30 years has fallen, other nations in the Middle East have seen protests by their people. The main theme seems to be democracy and more freedom.

The fact that the first thing the Egyptian people did with their new freedom was to go on strike for higher wages seems to be progress to them, but they still do not have a functioning government. What they do not understand is that freedom and democracy does not come overnight and fundamental changes take time.

The first thing the Egyptian people need to do is to elect a new government, not worry about how much money they are making. The new leadership will be the one to institute social reforms and help the people, but that will require time to initiate and implement.

Just toppling Mubarak and his regime will not bring democracy but it is only the beginning. Now, the hard work is about to begin. This change will require a new government to bring forth legislations that can help the people.

What most Egyptians do not realize yet is that real social change and how it will affect their personal lives for the better is still, at minimum, a year away. Democracy does not have instant benefits, just a pathway for change.

What is really ironic is this people power revolution has started to spread across the Middle East. The instigators are the imam’s of the Shiite muslim sect. The problem is that they are pushing for democratic changes in the Kingdoms of Jordan, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. These are monarchies, not democratic or dictatorship societies.

The last time a monarchy was removed from power and replaced with a democratic society was in 1905, when the Czar of Russia was overthrown. But that changed to communism almost immediately. Before that, there was the French revolution in 1789 and of course, the most famous of them all was when the British were kicked out of America in 1776. In each of those instances, it took time to improve the lives of the people by their new governments.

What is really ironic is that the religious leaders of Iran are instructing the Shiite imam’s across the Middle East to stir up protests, but the same is not allowed in Iran. The Iranian people have the same complaints about their government as the Egyptian people did. The main difference is that the Iran secret police are still killing the protesters and all of the leaders of the resistance.

I hope the world finally wakes up and recognizes that this ploy by Iran is to rid all the governments that are friends with America. This very well could be the beginning of the prophesied event of Armageddon.

The Muslim cause is to take over the world and convert it, by force if necessary. This has been clearly stated by the imam’s in their preaching to the masses. This spread of so called democracy is just the spreading of Iran’s influence on countries that were aligned with the west. If Bahrain falls, then the home of the 7th fleet of America will no longer have their home port. This is what Iran and its leaders wish.

As an American, I encourage the spread of democracy, real democracy, and not what occurred in Russia when their people power revolution replaced one authoritarian power with another.

With Iran influencing the overthrowing of their neighboring counties through so-called democratic movement while denying their own people the same freedoms, this is just an obvious power struggle for dominance of the region that could spread to the world.

You are not fooling this American, Mr. Ahmadinejad. I just hope the rest of the world sees your evil move for power before it is too late.
