There are many ways to make a living online. I have chosen to be a freelance article writer. Philippines has given me the right atmosphere and climate to assist my career by providing a climate that is warm year round and free of the rat race.

I have been an online ghost writer for some time now and have enjoyed every day of it. Rising with the sun to experience a fresh new day is invigorating. The sight of palm and coconut trees gracefully swaying with the breeze is a contrast to what I grew up with.  Seeing a hearty oak and the beautiful colors of the flaming maple trees is what were in my yard back in the states.

One of the advantages of living here, though, is when there is a power outage. When it happens here I, like most people just take a nap.  When we had power outages back in the states it was due to a very severe storm. The ice storms were the worst. The loss of power was life threatening and people died because of the cold. With power being out for days, my children and I would have to find refuge in a motel. My children loved the adventure but for myself it was just annoying. After the third power outage in a year, I purchased a generator.

One of the more interesting places to visit in the Philippines for me is the city market. The one in Angeles City is named Pampang Market, so called because it is located near a river shore. “Pampang” directly translated means shore in English.  There, one can find almost anything from live chickens to pigs. Of course, freshly dressed chickens and freshly slaughtered meat from pork to beef are also available, not to mention the array of fresh produce one can find. One can even find fresh water buffalo meat.

What I enjoy most as a freelance article writer is sitting on my porch writing under my umbrella while sipping on kalamansi juice. This is my favorite drink; I like it a lot better than lemonade. It is made from the Calamondin fruit, a type of citrus fruit native to the Philippines. This is a drink like lemonade but is sourer, yet very refreshing.

But this is the place to be an American article writer. Philippines, a warm and relaxing place to work and to enjoy life where summer is a year long.
